Oh my Lord.. is it possible that blogger now allows you to post pictures without using "Hello"? Hmmmm I'm going to have to try this one out!! LEt's see..I wonder if they'll allow you to post pics wherever in your writing. I've heard that you can only post pictures at the very top of your blog... hmmm that wouldn't work really well I think. Usually when I post pics, I like to post several after some explanation....
Ok, let's see.... I wonder if I create a whole bunch of words if this'll change it... I have to figure out a way to push the pics down...
Hmmm... I guess that answers my question... it's great that blogger now allows you to upload pics... but you can 't put them where you want them... damn it...
Further update: Ok, yeah you can... if you just mess around iwth the HTML for a bit ;)
|W|P|112008134592753970|W|P|Is it possible?|W|P|bfljock79@gmail.comKepakemapa 11, 2001Today is a grave day in the history of the world. At 2:30am this morning, or maybe it was 3:30am, Justin (Ka'ano'i) called me collect to say that the World Trade Center, the Twin Towers in New York City had just been bombed. I switched on my tv to make sure I wasn't dreaming this whole conversation, and at first I didn't believe him... but it was all over every station's news broadcast! And the really horrifying fact of the matter is not that the towers were bombed, but in the way they were bombed. Two planes, American Airlines Flt. 11 from Boston to Los Angeles was high-jacked by terrorists and forced to crash into one of the towers. That happened around 8:45am NY time. And then, about 18 minutes later, a United Airlines flight crashed into the other tower! A third plane, another American Airlines flight crashed into the Pentagon! There also was a fourth plane that crashed in Pennsylvania, while on its way to D.C.!It just amazes me that a terrorist group could do such a thing! No one knows who has caused this travesty, but it was definitely a well-planned terroristic attack. Pres. Bush has already stated that the U.S. will hunt down and find these culprits and they will be severely punished. You know, I may not really care of the man, but I definitely have to give the man credit for taking such a stand. The man is not sterile and definitely speaks with emotion. That's the kind of President that I like to have. The Secretary of Defense said that if there is a chance of war, they'll be more than ready.I have a feeling that the U.S. government is on its last legs as it comes to terrorism. I feel that any other terroristic threats will probably launch the U.S. into a war. British Prime Minister Tony Blair said that Britain will join forces with the U.S. in fighting against terrorism, and that Britain will not rest until terroristic threats in this world are put to an end. President Bush is due to speak again in a few minutes to address the nation. At this point, I feel really moved to write a kanikau(a chant of lament) for this situation, so don't be surprised if you see it soon!

Naniuapō stands majestically in the waters of Kahala
Waters that flow through the groves of lehua
The mind wanders and desire grows
When the young sprouts of the coconut grove are seen
Heated and blazing with passion is your beauty
That nothing could possibly compare to it
The sea of Kaka‘ako is also a beauty to behold
The land quivers and shakes at the sound of your voice
Yet it is a sweet, soothing sound to the ear
Just as it would be soothing to rest here in this bosom
This yearning heart that is waiting for you
Return to this place
Here where I am awaiting you…
Do not deny and turn away from a voice beckoning out
I am calling out, answer me
My love, the misty silvery rain,
My love is yours…

This mele, or chant, just came to me as I was working tonight at the show... I find that you never know when inspiration may strike you or when a chant might be "given" to you by forces unseen. Regardless, I felt the need to post it for some reason...|W|P|111960746390709171|W|P|Ku‘u Aloha Ua Kea|W|P|bfljock79@gmail.com
Ahhh Sesame Street...
Elmo!! I remember when Elmo first appeared on Sesame Street.. he was so cute!!
Oscar has always been one of my favorites... in fact I think I had a doll of him when I was a kid... well, I loved him and Cookie Monster heheh.. "C is Cookie!!"
Anyway, that's it... there's a really cute scene with Cookie Monster and another really sweet one with a polar bear.. but I had to put my camera away before I got into trouble =(.|W|P|111949640862720834|W|P|"Elmo's Coloring Book"|W|P|bfljock79@gmail.comShoulders

So that was it... my sorry-assed workout... ugh... I defintiely need to push harder on Friday. Anyway, the good side of it is that I am eating really well today.. a mixture of meal replacement shakes and quality proteins and carbs... heheh... well, that's about it!

Ok, who knows why abs are put on the same day as legs.. maybe it's because the back and the abs work hand in hand and it'd probably not be a good idea to stress both on the same day... hmmm... anyway, it was a great workout!!
I think I'll leave the meal plan for another day... writing about it, I mean hehehe.. Have a great day everybody, and make sure to stop by and say hi!!
|W|P|111891213160824243|W|P|BFL Lower Body Program|W|P|bfljock79@gmail.comAnyway, I know that might've confused some of you who are not totally focused and researched.. so basically the research says that doing intense exercises like sprinting intervals can burn up to 300% more fat and keep your metabolism up for a longer period of time than running at a steady pace for an hour.
Hence the reason why Bill Phillips came up with the 20-Minute Aerobic Solution... Again, using the same "intensity" scale of 1-10 from the weight training program, you would time yourself for 20 minutes... so pick an exercise like running or swimming, or biking, or whatever gets your heart rate up... and for the first two minutes, warm up on a level "5" on your intensity scale... then from minute 2-3, you would push it up a notch and start maybe a medium jog and get up to a "6" on intensity.. then from minute 3-4, kick it up to a "7".. then from minute 4-5, you' d kick it up to an "8".. then from min. 5-6, you push up to a "9" on the intensity scale... probably by then you should be breaking a sweat... then once you hit 6:00 on your time clock, bring it back down to a level "6" on intensity and then each minute, build it up again to a "9" just like you did before...
Then you repeat the sequence over and over until you reach 18:00 on your clock, at that point, you'll push even harder and push the intensity as far as you can go, a total "10"... which means that you're busting your ass going as fast and hard as you can for a minute... and trust me, that is f**king hard to do!! Then when you hit 19:00, you slow down and go down to a level "5" to cool down for the last minute...
And there you have it! The Aerobics Solution...
Anyway, I totally despise running and it totally kicked my ass this morning... thank God tomorrow is a lower body weight training day.... Oh!! By the way, to fully reap the benefits of higher metabolism, the program also suggests not eating for an hour after cardio workouts to maximize the fat burn that occurs within that hour. =)
Sometime this week I'll go over the food plan that the program has.. it's a little difficult for someone like me who loves his fast food, but I guess it could be worse =).|W|P|111880770257493531|W|P|BFL Cardio Prorgram|W|P|bfljock79@gmail.com
Dang!! I mean, look at him... like he was chiseled out of stone.. seriously.... a modern day "David" I think...
Damn Brazil, they ahve some of the hottest guys in the world down there.. lean, buffed and tanned... yum!! Thank God I live in a tropical location too ;)
Alright so what's a "hottie" collection without a hot, sweaty guy working his abs right?? Dang!!! Or as "Wayne" would say... "Schwiiiiiiing!!"
big arms, a chiseled face, pecs and cool glasses, what more could a guy want? There are a few bloggers out there who already have this particular physique like Jock-o-Homo, Geek Slut, and my online bud, Beast... but for the rest of us, at least we can use these pics for motivation in the gym right!
Oh by the way, Beast... I know you like your guys HUGE and I have a great pic in mind for you.. I just hope I haven't lost it when my hard drive crashed a while back.. I have to go look for it for ya ;)|W|P|111874486694145354|W|P|Hottie of the Week 6-13|W|P|bfljock79@gmail.com
Ok, so the plan when you have weight training days is... on Day 1, you do the "upper body" workout, which consists of the chest, shoulders, back, triceps and biceps... and the name of the game is INTENSITY. Through years of research and trial and error, Bill figured out that it's the intensity of a workout, and not necessarily the number of reps you do that builds muscle faster and stronger.. so what you do is there's a list of recommended excersizes for each muscle group.. you choose one (i.e. chest... Dumbbell Chest Press) and you'll do 5 sets of that exercise, with the firs set being 12 reps at a relatively easy weight amount (somewhere along a "5" on a scale from 5 - 10... so something where you feel weight but you're not strainign yourself just yet), then you rest for a minute, then on your next set you choose a weight that's the next weight level higher and do 10 reps.. this should feel to be a "6" on the your intensity level... then you rest a minute.. then you increase the weight again and on your 3rd set, you do 8 reps (a "7" on intensity)... then rest again.. then take it up on weight again and do 6 reps (an "8" on intensity)... then rest for a minute, but this last set you take the weight back down to your 8-rep set level and do 12 reps this time... (it should feel like a "9" in intensity).. and THEN, as soon as you finish that set, go back to your original "5" weight and pick another exercise that works the same muscle group (i.e. chest= dumbbell flyes) and do 12 reps, no break in between... that should feel like a "10"... meaning that if you did one more rep, your arms would fall off...
Ok, so after you finish that set, you're done with that muscle group.. you then rest for 2 minutes and move on to the next muscle group and repeat the process. Because you time yourself, the workout should be somewhere between 45-55 minutes... Bill also found out that working your muscles intensely for any longer than an hour could have a negative affect on muscle building, so you want to make sure to not rest for too long ;)
Anyway, this is one of those programs where you can't be like a lot of the guys in the gym who will do their set and then chill out and check themselves out or talk to their friends for half and hour and then do their next set.. sometimes, I wonder how people can spend 2-3 hours in a gym... that's massive overkill...
Ok, so now that I've completely bored most of you.. here's what I did today...
Chest
Shoulders
Back
Triceps
Biceps
Well, there you have it... my shoulders are the weakest part on my upper bod, but knowing me, they'll probably be the first to develop hehehe... Oh well, I need to get my ass to bed.. tomorrow is my cardio workout... I despise running, so wish me luck!

It seems like forever since I've posted about Hawaiian history... I think the last time was back in early May....http://bfljock79.blogspot.com/2005/05/no-n-hanauna-mai-wkea-mai.html Therefore, I think at that time, I had posted the first half of a chapter written by Hawaiian historian David Malo in the 1840s about the beginnings of the Hawaiian people. So, here's the last half of that chapter. It's from Hawaiian Antiquities, which came from the manuscript of David Malo, who again was a Hawaiian historian, who lived from 1795-1853:
13. Here is something that is said, a man arrived from Tahiti named Mo‘ikeha, and at the time when he arrived, Kalapana was the ruler of Hawai‘i during this time. 14. When Mo‘ikeha arrived he settled on the island of Kaua‘i, and he slept with a woman named Hinau‘ula, and they gave birth to a son named Kila. 15. When Kila had grown up, he traveled to Tahiti, and it is thought that he left from the western point of Kaho‘olawe, because this point is called “The path to Tahiti.” 16. Kila arrived in Tahiti and upon his return to Hawai‘i, he brought along La‘amaikahiki, this was also when the kā‘eke‘eke drum was introduced, and the canoe lashing cords, and they settled back in Hawai‘i, and they also became ancestors for Hawai‘i’s royalty and others, these people and things were known to be from Tahiti in ancient times. 17. It is thought that Hawaiians are all part of one people stretching from Hawai‘i to Tahiti and including all islands in between. 18. Because, they all shared similar physical features, the languages are similar, the genealogies are comparable, and the legends, and the wooden god images, it is thought that all these people came to Hawai‘i in little groups. 19. Because, there (in Tahiti) they have large canoes called pahi, most likely the same canoes that they used to travel to Hawai‘i, it is also said, the ancient people were highly-skilled in observing the stars, which served as their compass during long journeys. 20. However, it is not said that the first canoes were of the pahi class, nor were they moku, or “ships”, but merely referred to as wa‘a. 21. It has been said, however, that these people came from the lewa, the atmosphere, from the windward or back of the heavenly island. 22. The meaning of these expressions is that they came from foreign lands, that is the air, and the front of that land is at the back of these islands. 23. Perhaps this was a people that were banished by war, or driven this way by winds and storms, perhaps Asia is this place that is referred to by a region of air, or possibly the expression refers to islands that they drifted around in and visited before arriving here, so that on their arrival they declared they came from the back of these islands. 24. Perhaps these people were from the Israelites, because we know that certain customs of the Israelites were practiced here in Hawai‘i. 25. Circumcision, places of refuge, tabus relating to burial rites, restrictions upon menstruating women, the isolation of a woman who just gave birth for seven days after the birth, all these things were practiced by the Hawaiian people. 26. Perhaps these people are those spoken of in the Word of God as “the lost sheep of the House of Israel”, because when we really study it, we can see that the people of Asia are very similar to the native inhabitants of these islands and those of Tahiti and the islands surrounding them.Ok, it should be said.. that while all this information is valuable because of the fact that David Malo lived during a pivotal era of Hawaiian history. It also MUST be said that Malo converted to Christianity as many Hawaiians did at that time, so a lot of his opinions of the traditions of our people are heavily influenced by Christian doctrine and thought. SO the scholar of today has to work even harder to look past all that and draw your own conclusions about what he has to say. Anyway, I think that's enough for one post, have a great night everyone!|W|P|111822267204771791|W|P|No Nā Hanauna Mai Ā Wākea Mai – Part 2|W|P|bfljock79@gmail.com
